Bama, Bourbon and Being Bold

1 min read

Hi! I’m Holley Miller, the Founder and President of Grey Matter Marketing. I’m from the South and if you know anything about me, you know that I love Alabama football, bourbon and country music. Johnny Cash and June Carter were revered in our family. I once heard that when asked how she was doing, June replied, “I’m just tryin’ to matter.” I thought that was the loveliest sentiment and it influenced me when I founded Grey Matter Marketing in 2006. In fact, our tag line is "Do What Matters." I want to do what matters for patients, do what matters for our clients, and do what matters for each other.

While our work has received a number of different industry awards over the years, a week ago we were recognized for a special distinction: The MM&M (Medical Marketing & Media) Award: SILVER Small Healthcare Agency of the Year. The objective of the MM&M Awards is to recognize and champion both creativity and effectiveness in healthcare marketing and communications. The 2019 theme was “Show Your Bold.” There is no greater accolade in healthcare marketing than winning an MM&M Award, so you can imagine how excited we were to receive this recognition. I might have even had some bourbon to celebrate.

Thank you for this validation that we are achieving our goal of doing what matters. I am so proud to share this recognition with the Grey Matter team who is mission-driven to do the right thing for people and brands. I’m also grateful to our growing list of clients who want to work with bold industry veterans to grow their brand and drive change in an increasingly complex landscape.

Here’s to doing what matters! (And Roll Tide!)
