Grey Matter Marketing’s Director of Digital Marketing, Valerie Barro, will be a speaker at the 2013 American Hospital Association (AHA) Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD) conference, held in Chicago from September 29th through October 2nd. Valerie will be speaking as part of the Public Relations and Communications panel. SHSMD is described as the premier organization for 4,000 healthcare professionals responsible for strategy development and implementation in a wide array of healthcare organizations. The annual SHSMD conference will host healthcare marketing, public relations and communications professionals sharing ideas and best practices, amongst recognized thought leaders and thousands of peers.

Valerie’s panel discussion session on Messaging (Rapid Fire) will be held on October 1st at 11AM. The SHSMD program describes Valerie’s presentation as:

The Voice… no it’s not the singing contest on TV, but it is something that is key to the success of any brand. In this rapid fire session, you will hear how social media has changed consumers from receivers of our one-way communication efforts to being equal partners in crafting our message. Learn how to confidently jump into the two-way conversation that social media has created, and how to keep your eye on the horizon (and not at your feet) by developing a Message Map that creates a long-term and consistent messaging perspective. It’s all about creating an effective, consistent and confident brand Voice!
